From a very early age I acquired an appreciation for many genres of music and how music can affect one’s emotions.  As a child of the 60’s and 70’s I developed an attraction to what is now considered classic Rock and Country, but I also enjoyed listening to other genres as well.  Over the past several years, I had the opportunity to help a now retired DJ with some of his shows.  I had the chance to observe the positive effect on the audience. I also have been learning from a friend who is a very well-established DJ.

  Fast forward to late 2022, I was approaching retirement as a university level lecturer in Human Anatomy and Physiology, I felt that I needed a bit more to occupy my time more than just my regular hobbies.  It was on January 1, 2023, that I began Jumpin’ John DJ. 

Since that time my business has grown dramatically.My business philosophy is to provide a high-quality show for people that does not destroy their budget.  While there are very good DJ’s that charge more, I feel that I am providing a service to more budget minded people. In the past year I have invested in more dynamic lighting to enhance the vibes of my shows.  I have played weddings, anniversary parties, birthday parties, corporate events, class reunions, middle and high school dances, benefit events and celebration of life events. I view each show that I play as a unique event tailored to my customer. I pay special attention to each customer’s desires and always try to meet their needs.  The true joy that I derive from being a DJ is seeing how music can make people happy. That having been said, understand that I will provide you with a unique and unforgettable event.
